Due Repect to the King of Pop from a Born Again Fan

Damn. I took Michael for granted until he passed last week. Always knew his music was good. The more recent albums had some great songs. It wasn't like the Victory Days. Saw the Victory Tour. It was the best performance, I'd seen. Went totally banana's. And yes, I wore a white glove.

Then Michael blasted himself in the media. It took some time to understand and accept his morphing face. Then there was the young children. Then there was his own children. It all became a smoke screen of the Greatness He Possessed.

The only thoughts of Michael are: Genius. Greatest singer of all time. True giver. Disciplined and talented. Truly loved his fans.

His death has awakened my deep respect and love for his spirit. His person. I don't care that he is not perfect. Who is.

His true effect. He was A GIVER.

Here are some Greatness stats:

  • Michael's Victory Tour grossed $75 million setting a record for, at the time, the largest grossing tours. Michael donated all of his pay, $5 million, to charity.
  • Michael co-wrote the song We Are the World with Lionel Ritchie. The song and the resulting We Are the World movement raised over $60 million dollars for worldwide famine relief.
  • Michael has donated over $300 million to charity.
  • Michael was listed in the 2000 edition of the Guinness Book of World Records for the “Most Charities Supported by a Pop Star”.
  • The website www.jacksonaction.com, which calls itself the "comprehensive source of official Michael Jackson news since its launch in 1997. Always fair, always objective and covering all sides of the stories", has an extensive list of Michael Jackson's charitable work.
Michael Jackson is a force for Good. Love you Man.
